| What makes Monasterboice so famous are its 10th century High Crosses, also known as Celtic Crosses. The cross above is Muiredach's Cross and is considered the finest High Cross in Ireland. |

| The next is the West Cross, which is the tallest in Ireland, standing at about 6.5 meters. Most High Crosses are adorned with biblical carvings arranged into panels. |
